1. How much does a project cost?

It depends on what is being built. A corporate website on our EZsite platform starts at RM2,300 for the first year and RM800 a year after that, with hosting included. An online store starts at RM3,300 for the first year and RM1,500 to renew. Custom systems are quoted per project and typically fall between RM30,000 and RM200,000, depending on how much of it there is - a system with a desktop interface, an API layer and a mobile app sits at the higher end.

2. What is included in the quote?

Normally the domain, hosting, SSL certificate, payment gateway application, copywriting and imagery. The exception is photographs of your own products or premises, which have to come from you - nobody else can take them.

3. How do payments work?

Projects under RM10,000 are split 50% to start and 50% on delivery. Above that it is 40% to start, 30% at an agreed midpoint and 30% on delivery.

4. How long does a project take?

A corporate website takes about 14 days and an online store about 21 days, both assuming the content and materials are ready. Custom systems run from 30 to 90 days depending on complexity.

5. What usually causes a project to run late?

Almost never the code. It is waiting on decisions, waiting on photographs and copy, waiting for a phone line or a merchant account to be approved, and changes to a workflow that had already been agreed. We will tell you at the start which of these sits on your side, because those are the ones that move the date.

6. Who owns the code when it is finished?

You do. On project work the code and everything in it belongs to the client, and you can take the source with you. The exception is our SaaS products - EZsite, EZcon, EZlearn and the rest - where you are subscribing to something we host and maintain rather than buying a build.

7. Can you connect it to the software we already use?

Usually yes. Accounting is the most common request and we have integrated AutoCount, SQL Accounting, Bukku and Xero. We have also connected POS systems, payment gateways and nineteen different courier APIs.

8. What do you build with?

On the web, PHP with CodeIgniter or Laravel on the server, and React, Angular or Vue on the front end, with Node.js where it fits. Mobile apps are built in Flutter, which produces a real iOS and a real Android app from one codebase.

9. What happens after it goes live?

There is a one year warranty covering bugs and small adjustments. After that, or alongside it, maintenance contracts run annually from RM1,100 a month.
